ARC provided by Netgalley. Thank you so much. Please note that the review is my own personal opinion. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this book and decided to DNF it at 31%. This book is meant to be for young adults and it handles a couple of sensitive subjects, which I generally think is great, but unfortunately, the (ab)use of alcohol and drugs is taken way too easy in this book. Also, am I the only one who thinks that Eden might suffer from some kind of ED? Within this 31% she more or less sneaks around meals, refuses to take chicken and fries because she hates the effect junk food has and chooses a salad instead, instead of eating she goes jogging etc. I'm aware that not everybody who prefers salad and sports over junk food and being lazy suffers from some kind of ED but within this book, it seems really odd. Generally, Eden is very basic. She does things her so-called friends do. She knows that drinking is wrong, yet she follows along instead of standing up and being a good example. Her female "friends" are just as shallow as her...rich stupid bitches that have nothing else than beauty, money, shopping, party and alcohol, looking slutty and sex in their mind. That's way too clichée. Her father is not really interested, neither is Eden. I can understand that she's hurt because he left, but she dislikes him so much... After all, she had the chance to leave whenever she wants. The other members are barely mentioned. I can't even remember the name of one of the brothers. Jamie and ??? Now to Tyler: I understand his anger and rage yet it doesn't give him the right to hurt others. There's this one scene at the stoner party where he takes Eden and he grabs her wrist so hard it feels numbing to her. She should have said something, but of course, she doesn't and he shouldn', first of all, have taken her to the party and second grab her that hard. I like bad boys but when they hurt a woman they care for (and he seems to care for her, otherwise he wouldn't freak when other guys get close to her) physically it's just enough. He really has issues. Since I couldn't bear reading on, I don't know how things actually do develop, but I generously don't even care if he will turn into a fairy tale prince charming. The sum it up the story was: clichée and glorifying abuse of alcohol and drugs, putting bad boys with a serious attitude to be good and repairable and the characters were shallow and lacking of depth.
