The story captured me with its own concept of abilities and explaining how a rather darker character, say a villain, comes to be. Not by his own will, but rather forced by the developments (which are realistic, understandable and awaken a certain sympathy). Marie Lu tried something new and didn't screw it (although she stayed with her main theme- rebellion). On the contrary, I liked her approach and choice of perspective. I'm excited how the multifaceted characters will develop further.
