There are books you pause for a reason, maybe because something happened you don’t agree with, maybe because you don’t click with the characters or maybe because the pace is really slow. Then there are books you pause for no reason whatsoever… Or maybe the reason is just being dumb. The Bridge Kingdom definitely belongs to the latter category, because WHY ON EARTH DID I PAUSE THIS MASTERPIECE?????????? I have absolutely no idea, because I loved it, it was brilliant and it deserves 10/5 stars! But let us start at the beginning, shall we? All I really knew about this book before going into it was that there is a pretty good enemies-to-lovers romance and that people seemed to like this book a lot. Honestly, I didn’t need to hear much more to buy this book. lol But boy oh boy was I dumbstruck when reading these first few chapters. My mouth literally fell wide open, because I couldn’t believe what was happening. And I don’t mean that in a negative way, because quite honestly, I was giddy with excitement. :D THIS BOOK!!!! This is right up my alley!!! I expected an enemies-to-lovers romance and I definitely got this - and it was delicious! There were so many scenes in which I was just fangirling, giggling and fanning myself because phew!!! WOW. I loved it so much! But I also got so much more than just a great romance. The characters were all fantastic, I loved our protagonists, I loved the plot and the tension and the lies and deception and secrets and surprises and basically I loved EVERYTHING about it. What fascinated me the most though?? The world! It was so rich and described so perfectly. Every time I was reading this book I felt like I was there in that fascinating, dangerous and rich world. I felt like I was surrounded by a jungle, with lots of dangerous enemies. I felt the humidity in the air, I felt the rains and storms raging around me and I was completely sucked into it. It was wonderful. This is what books should do! This is what reading is about and why I love reading so much! Because of the exact feeling that The Bridge Kingdom gave me. Absolutely wonderful!! Danielle created a wonderful world and took me on an adventure - Thank you so much for this!!
