I'm this 👌 close to read it again in English, just to see if it was just the translation or the whole book which didn't work out or for me. Don't read this in German, seriously. The writing style was just weird but I'm 68% sure that's because of the bad translation. I almost cringed at every page which made it really hard to pay attention to the story, the characters and everything else. There way always a metaphor or a slang which just felt so, so WRONG and urgh, it was unsettling. (Also, this is the third book in a series and I realised it after reading it while checking Goodreads?? I'm confused, it's literally mentioned nowhere in the whole book?? @ the German publisher, what the f*ck). Besides that, the book covered a moving story and a strong main character who was really admirable. The series is also Own Voice and can be read by children.
