This was fantastic! Great characters, great worldbuilding (plus great history), great development, great relationships and great writing. I loved this book! Veronyka is a character that was indeed a bit naive in the beginning and there were one or two scenes where her behavior wasn't understandable for me and I was annoyed at her naiveté in one or two cases. Nonetheless, I loved her character - even more so when her development started. She grew from a little naive and dependent girl into a young woman that takes her life in her own hands and who becomes entirely independent, strong and fearless. Seeing this development was awesome! There were twists and turns I didn't expect coming and there were scenes that left me either shocked or in happy tears. And the usual drama that happens when a character veils their identity? Well, it was there, but it didn't lead to more misunderstandings and silence. Instead, I could find acceptance and respect. And this ending!!! I don't know how I am supposed to wait until book 2 is out! I have so many questions and I want to know what happens next!
