What a book! What a fantastical wild ride. This! Was awesome. I was a little hesitant before starting this, because this was my first Brandon Sanderson book and expected his books to be super complex and heavy. I'm not a native speaker. And even though I consider myself fluent in English, with high fantasy and sci-fi I'm always a little hesitant, because there will be for sure words I'm not a 100% familiar with. Simply because I don't use these words in my everyday life. But I didn't have any problems with this book. Everything was smooth and perfect and just what I needed. A sci-fi that is impressive. I love the writing. The way Brandon has with words is so good! I felt like I was part of the fight, part of Flight Skyward. There were some crazy good personalities in this book. No one was like the other, every one had a unique personality trait to them and even the side characters were greatly developed. They all had so much depth to them. Even the grandma who really didn t have much screen time was unique in her own way and I understood even the mother and what drove her. The mystery aspect to the story was also great! Everything slowly developed, nothing felt rushed or out if place or illogical. It was well thought through. And I am so curious to see what else will be happening with the Krell in the coming books. I'll probably read Starsight very soon now and even though we'll probably waiting for book 3 and 4 another 2 (?) years, I absolutely don't mind, because simply the fact that this is going to be a 4 book series has me excited! Oh, and one last thing before I end this review; M-Bot!!!!!! I can't tell how much I ADORE him. He and his snarky comments and his amazing personality really made the book extra special and wait to see how all the others are going to react to his craziness. 😂
