** spoiler alert ** I loved it! I went into this book only knowing that it was about twins that didn't talk anymore. Apart from that I knew nothing. And I also didn't set my hopes too high, because of all the hype surrounding it. The writing style is very vivid and absolutely beautiful. I really liked reading from Noah's perspective as it was so colourful and imaginative. His thoughts brought the artistic character of his personality and the book as a whole very well across. What I found amazing is that, even though I didn't like Jude much in the beginning, I began to love Jude as I read more and more from her perspective. Despite the fact that Noah and Jude are kind of working against each other - being in a constant competition - and hurting each other with unforgivable actions and trying to destroy each others' dreams, I found myself loving, understanding and relating to both in the end. Their thoughts and stories are so touching that I cried for the first time in a while over a book. This book kept me thinking about the two of them and I needed to take breaks while reading, because I just had been so overwhelmed. And not only were their experiences touching, but also how their relationship to each other and the other characters in the book developed. I especially loved the way Noah and his dad got closer again and how Noah felt like his father actually appreciated him for the first time as his son, when in fact all their feelings were just mixed up and misunderstood. And reading how Noah and Jude forgave each other for all what they had done made me cry all over again. This time from joy. I can conclude that, in my opinion, this book is absolutely worth the hype surrounding it when it came out. I fell in love with it. With the book and the characters and the relationships and the dynamics. And I am pretty sure it will stay with me for a while.
