4,5/5 ⭐ “Don't ignore half of me so you can fit me into a box. Don't do that.” I really don't know why it took me so long to finally pick this book up. I had it on my reading list for so long and a friend (who I trust a lot when it comes to good books) basically told be about this book once a week. I basically read this over the course of three days. The first day, I got until Evelyn's first husband and thought that it was interesting and nicely written. On the second day, I read all until Harry. And this morning, I finished it. It took me over eight hours to gather my thoughts and write this review. Because this book left me speechless? But in a good way. Even though this is a fictional autobiography, I feel like Evelyn was a real movie star. Everything about her, her husbands and her life is painted in such a realistic way, it's unreal. Not a single character that felt bland. Everybody was so diverse and complex, but it also didn't feel forced (if you know what I mean?). Oh, and I want to add that I read this book without knowing the huge impact of LGBTQ+ on this story, and I was so surprised, but in a good way! This book truly is a masterpiece, and will teach you a lot about sexuality, intimacy, and mostly: love.v
