2/5 stars you are your own soul mate I have wanted to read Milk and Honey for a long time. I mean, who hasn't seen a Rupi Kaur poem floating around on Instagram, right? So I wanted to see the hype about her myself. And I get it. Her style is very distinct and unique. Words carefully chosen and placed on the pages, with fitting illustration to make the whole book, not just the words, the reading experience. As for this book, I actually disliked 70% of the poems. The themes didn't resonate with me; it was so much about abuse and rape, and while those are very important topics, and the poems were still beautifully written, they didn't move me. Until I got to the chapter "The healing". That was my favorite chapter of poems in this book. But yeah, overall this book wasn't the kind of poetry I enjoy. And I obviously read the book in English; the language is very easy so no need for you to read a translated version I think. And poetry translation in my opinion are never great, so if you have read it in another language than English, read the originals...
