This book is probably one of my favourite books of all time. I love to reread it from time to time, or read just a few pages that are marked with my favourite quotes. I think you can somehow consider this book a classic. The format of the book is a unique a th story. It is told in letters to a freind of main-character Charlie, though the reader knows that this friend doesn't actually know Charlie. One can say that it is a story of growing up, of friendship and love, of power and trust.  "So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm just trying to figure out how that could be" Charlie is a Freschman and his best friend commited suicide. He is a very shy person but very smart. So obviously it isn't easy for him to make friends. He meets Sam and her brotherPatrick. They help Charlie to enjoy the life, to get out of his shell and to live the moment. Their journey is beautiful, but the demons from Charlie's past never let go. The writing style of this novel is stunning. It's very light and entertaining, you really notice that Charlie has nearly no experiences with people :D Besides, the story flows very melodic, the words the author uses are so beutiful... ah, I love it! Also, the story takes palce over the years 1991 and 1992, so everything is a bit "retro", which adds an interesting touch to the content. "We accept the love we think we deserve" In the end, something terrible from Charlie's past is revealed that keeps the reader at the edge of its seat. But nevertheless, this is a story everone should read. It gives you so so much!
