Seventeen-year old Alosa allows herself to be captured by her enemy to search their ship to find a special map for her father, who happens to be the pirate king. This book is different from any other books I've read so far. First of all, it is about pirates. I never belived I could enjoy this topic so much. It was so much fun to be on board of a ship, to learn all the words pirates use and to follow Alosa on her adventure. Secondly, you got a lot of Pirates of the Carribean vibes, which I loved a lot. The characters are very important to the story. Alosa is a wodnerful main character. She constantly struggles to hide her real strenght from her captors, she is fierce and fearless, she really is the perfect female Jack Sparrow. She never shuts her mouth, is a very badass female characters and knows her way around. She has now regrets killing people and reminds me a lot of Celaena Sardothien from the Throne of Glass series. The first mate from of her enemy, Riden, is also a very handsome character. He teases her, tries to uncover her secrets but he does it in a way every girl would fall for him. He is loyal to his brother, the captain but he also struggles with his past and tries to hide all of his feelings. The chemistry between both of them is amazing. They fight each other fiercly, they have battles using words and they really are the best. The humor and sarcasm in this novel is amazing. The writing style is fast paced, Alosa tells the story so we know about her feelings all the time. Nevertheless we don't know all her secrtes and they slowly get uncovered throughout the story. This novel is really a jewel. If you look for a pirate book with a badass main character, that is the one for you!
