"Audrey Rose Wadsworth isn´t your typical turn of the century girl. Instead of being at tea parties she spends her time in her uncle´s lab, dissecting dead bodies, much to the dismay of her family. But when a serial killer begins to terrorize London and her uncle is held responsible for the murders Audrey begins to investigate alongside her uncle´s assitant, the ever so charming, and very annoying, Thomas Cresswell and suddenly finds herself closer to Jack The Ripper than she had anticipated." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I came across this book by accident, but since I absolutely adore books that take place around this time, and since I´ve always found the whole mystery surrouding Jack The Ripper rather fascinating, it was a must read for me! The story was great and I found myself guessing who could be the killer, and since I´ve been reading the book with a couple of friends we had plenty to discuss! I recommend reading it with a friend, that way you can discuss theories and clues! I loved the characters, though I have to admit that it took me a while to get used to Audrey Rose and sometimes I really did have to roll my eyes at her changing behavior and dramatic outbursts. 🙈 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Still, I was rooting for her to solve the case and even though I had a suspicion as to who the killer was rather early on I was surprised at the actual motives for the killings, so well done! It´s definitely a book I´d recommend to fans of badass women solving cases in a Sherlock Holmes like manner and for mystery fans who enjoy a good crime novel set in the late 19th century!
